175. KISS AGAIN! PART 8A TIME FOR TRUTH TO TACKLE EGO (175)

What if another person's presence arouses your anxiety because that person knows something about you that's hidden inside your subconscious?

What if your discomfort with that person grows whenever that secret peeks out of your subconscious?

How long will it be before that 'secret' (the elephant in the room) steps out of your subconscious and clears the tension in the air for everyone concerned?

It's easy to see why:
Our minds must muster courage and humility before painful truths, concerning subconscious insecurities emerge.

When negatively focused judgment lowers the boom on a relationship lost at sea, love and friendship must build a life raft composed of compassion for each other's vulnerabilities.

True intimacy depends on our ability to hang loose with each other when the good, the bad, and the ugly make their way from the wings onto center stage.

At times when self respect
Is in need of strengthening
I sail away on Walden Pond

As I come to understand
Both sides of myself in depth
I'm not an easy target to put down

Put me down
Watch me
Pick myself up

Put me down
Watch me show you
What's missing in your reasoning

Put me down
Hear me explain
Why you might want to think again

Having come I know myself in depth
I do not worry about being dissed
By a mind lost in its own hazy maze

Rather than responding with ire
Watch me express compassion
For another's misperceptions

As keeping company
With clarity
Makes sense

I'll offer you
The benefit of the doubt
Again and again

In my company
Compassion and mutual respect
Are yours for the taking

Sail away with me
I am your friend
I want to hold your hand

When constructing our life raft
During life's most difficult times
We secure friendship by layering:

Positive focus
Compassion for human vulnerability
Mutual respect

If you can not see your way clear
To construct a secure life raft with me
I'll wish you well but sail forth alone

Once again—keeping company
With clarity
Makes sense to me ...

Please sail away with me
Rest assured, I am your friend
I want to hold your hand
