A day to rejoice over our freedom to embrace each other as equals.
This morning I awoke with a stirring in my mind, trying to couple up with yesterday's train of thought, concerning turning away from judgment and toward the path where sympathy, compassion, and empathy catalyze healing on all sides. And here's what's emerged from my mind, so far:
Before THE POWER OF ONE can leap over fear it must be energized by some type of fuel. Though the fuel appears to be anger, in truth, anger is stirred compassion for the underdog—but not just any compassion.
THE POWER OF ONE is not a four door sedan that gets you from here to there.
Before THE POWER OF ONE can leap over sadness and fear, the spirit must be nourished with a superduper kind of fuel, because, ofttimes, this leap proves to be a superhuman feat!
In fact, this superduper fuel must be every bit as enriching as the fuel, which stokes the engines of race cars, determined to achieve their goal of defying danger by remaining on track.
So what is this high octane fuel, released by the brain, when COMPASSION, enriched by the power of EMPATHY, zooms past logic, thus mowing fear down flat on the track—suggesting that: I do much more than acknowledge and sympathize with your pain ...
I've lived your experience; your shoes fit my feet; tis time for suppressed fireworks, resulting from savage pain, ravishing my body, mind, and soul—to explode.
As your pain had once been mine, here's why I want to hold your hand: My arm, attached to yours, embodies the hose from which positive energy flows from my spirit into yours.
And while directing my focus toward nurturing your mind, body, and spirit to heal, I encourage myself to expunge spots of residual pain that still pack the power to pierce my sense of inner peace. And in this way have I come to understand that when love explodes into empathetic anger my whole heart is actively engaged in aiding the spirit of another to heal—and as a result of my show of inner strength, my spirit moves along this path of resuscitating wholeness, as well.
And now that you know why:
The love given from the generous side of my spirit is returned twofold—
Not just from you but from re-energizing the positively focused side of myself.
In short
First I learn, then I practice, then I preach.
And thus do we dispell this rule of thumb:
Some do, some teach
In truth some do and teach
And while working to achieve this superduper feat
Re-energizing the THE POWER OF ONE
In hopes of strengthening the human vulnerabilities of two
Tis necessary, from time to time
To rest for a spell
Before life cycles round
And the need to encourage one another
Begins all over, again
And so it goes with you and me.
As for posting, today
Tis a holiday of thanksgiving, fun, and repose
A day of picnics, hotdogs, and corn
In short, my kind a day
And though tis time to say ta ta, for now ...
I'll share one more thought
Before returning to post, tomorrow:
When next we meet
I hope to feel ready to show you those memories
Which released Joseph from looking like Captain Hook—
Forcing me to walk the plank—
However, when it comes to what my brain
May feel like releasing, from one day to the next
As always—your guess is as good as mine!
