1113 NO! NO! NOT AGAIN! REVISITED 56

2014
Paraphrasing an article written by Bryan Alexander in USA Today:

'When you see life through the eyes of someone with a good sense of humor ... life is a human comedy ... Full of twists and turns ...'.     George Takei aka Hikaru Sulu on the tv series, Star Trek

Takei experienced prejudicious injustice as a child.  Being a Japanese American, he grew up in a US internment camp, where his family was forced to live during WWII.  During his teens, Takei noted that that episode of life was not mentioned in U. S. history books.  He says his father pointed out that life can be as great as it is fallible.  (And I'd add, the same is true of human nature, too.)
Though this reality pushed Takei to be politically active, he hid his sexuality to protect his career from prejudicious condemnation.  Thankfully, he felt free to be true to himself by coming out to his Star Trek cast, who protected his need to live a secret life.  (Another word for secret is private)

For years, Takei lived under the radar until 2005, when he was outraged by Gov. Schwatzenegger's veto of the same-sex marriage bill, forbidding Takei to wed his long time partner, whom he married, joyfully,  in 2008.  (Once the timing was right, he mustered the courage to embrace an activist stance, concerning gay rights.)

Today, Takei tempers the seriousness of his political role with humorous remarks, and thus, by trial and error, this quiet man, turned trailblazer, has seen a limited group of followers mushroom into a widely diverse audience, who hope to start their day with a well informed reason to smile.  Quoting this individual, who has come to understand the significance of honoring his needs:  "There was a time when we didn't think we could have (enjoy) this kind of life … it's extremely fulfilling … (It's extremely fulfilling to voice the courage of my convictions when the time feels ripe to stand on a soapbox, expressing a knowledgable view of mindsets in need of expansion, thus freeing me to be me and you to be you while creating a joyful sense of we).  I am a very lucky guy.  I love my life ...'  (Me, too)

As life is what we make of it, it's become apparent to me that whenever I consider the bigger picture, it's possible to enjoy many aspects of my life with less undeserved guilt than I'd originally heaped upon my own head, suggesting that each time I choose to free myself of the weight of the world while satisfying my need to enjoy life to the fullest (within reason), this new mindset offers my smile another heartfelt reason to sparkle with love and laughter from the inside out, as is clearly seen each time a loved one draws near, igniting my spirit to light up from deep within my core, where my soul glows with happiness for all to behold ...
Wishing you a soul sparkling, high spirited, five star day!
Your friend,
Annie
