Though our economy is experiencing a recession, most families have not yet hit bottom. And just as we need congressmen, who can work together to make significant changes for the betterment of the nation as a whole—children need parents to open their eyes to that which catalyzed our divorce rate to sky rocket over these past fifty years. Once insight into that power struggle soaks into our minds, we may be able to instill stability, based in mutual respect, into home after home. If you wonder what congress and family lack, I'd reply ... mutual respect, based in personal strengths, which turn downhill spirals around. And—if attitude, timing and readiness are everything, then insight into our self-destructive attitudes is imperative if we hope to recycle surviving toward thriving, throughout our nation, again. When we fail to solve problems in home after home, eventually our nation fails as a whole. And with time, you may be surprised to learn what I believe catalyzed our great society's slide into decline during the turbulent sixties.
Whenever I think about downward spirals, the fall of Rome comes to mind. And I’ve heard others say the same—repeatedly, because world powers (and families) don’t crash, over night. *World powers decline and families tear apart, one blind step at a time. As blind denial eats away at all we value, everyone points fingers of blame, suggesting that all too few hold themselves accountable when howling winds of change, born of negative attitudes, deafen our ears to insight into common sense. Think of what happened in France when the hunger of the silent majority grabbed hold of the power to lower the guillotine indiscriminately and thus just as criminally as had the rich closed their hearts to the neediness of the starving populous ... "
"Wait a minute, Annie. You can't think to change the world by yourself."
"Of course not, Mom. I'm not the only one standing on a soapbox, writing about these issues. I write in hopes of awakening each person's awareness of personal accountability. Our law makers didn't cause our nation's economy to unbalance any more than today's youth teach themselves to be self absorbed and lax. Upon tapping into deeper truth, it becomes apparent that we all participate in downhill spirals in one way or another ... which is why we each need to open our minds and grow aware of how to contribute to change for the better.
Our nation is a family made of up unique individuals. And as such, we must work to understand how self destructive misperceptions breed disillusionment and discontent before the family can begin to heal as a whole. Same thing is true of society in general—Family/Nation/Global community—if prosperity depends upon one hand feeding the other, and if we are our brother's keepers, and if we believe in the power of one joining hands with the powers of many then we need to confront underlying reasons why one hand cheats the other by confronting human nature as it exists within us all. In every aspect of life, walls of denial blind us to deeper truths, suggesting that we are in need of educating each other by listening openly to viewpoints that expand upon our own.

*By choosing to share insight into the classic nature of my misperceptions, I hope to inspire others to acknowledge both sides of human nature within themselves ... because ...
We can't grow toward whole-someness while denying the sum of our parts.
At times, it takes lots of courage to bare my vulnerabilities. Sometimes, after publishing a post, I question my readiness to offer such a public view of my insecurities. Then I sleep on the question in hopes that an intuitive insight into deepening my sense of humility may strengthen my perspective upon awakening in the morning.
*Once each of us connects more deeply with humility we'll come to recognize how often our egos puff up our personas. Once we recognize the subtle ways that our egos manipulate others, who seeing us as saints, do our bidding without questioning our motives, we may identify those times when we're not as selfless as we'd like to believe. *If we don't stop blinding ourselves to passive aggressive power struggles, which get under our skin, then we'll never connect honestly and thus intimately with anyone, including ourselves.
Upon acknowledging subconscious insecurities, which hide from conscious awareness, we're more likely to muster compassion for the insecurities of others, and as we work to expand our perspectives, we'll each shore up the strengths necessary to stop our nation's downhill spiral, one family at a time ... And that's why I hope my grassroots movement will pick up its pace.
Each time I click on stats and spy a new nation, my spirit jumps for joy. People ask how my numbers grow. Truly, I have no clue, except for two suppositions: People of all ages surf the net. And we all enjoy true stories laced with classic insight into happy endings. As lots of true stories—laced with insight into simplifying complexity, resulting in smiles all around—bounce out of my head, I figure that surfers who 'find me' choose to seek me out, again.
The concept of embracing our global community suggests that the good health of our nation cannot ignore 'poor health' around the world, ever again. Though we are our brother's keepers, brotherhood does not equate with shouldering problems that overwhelm others—what we can do is educate every mind that opens up to looking in …"
"So, now you're saying everything is connected, right?"
"Exactly! Everything and everyone. And the fact that we're naturally drawn to connect with each other in mutually enriching ways will come clear, story by story. *As each story unfolds, I can show 'life' unfolding like a three act play."
Act one
Jack and Jill climb up the hill
To fetch a pail of life sustaining water
Act two
In haste, Jack runs too fast, falls down and breaks his crown
Then, while declaring her independence, Jill hits the glass ceiling and comes tumbling after
Act three ... remains to be seen
But if you ask me, it's high time for Jack and Jill to hold hands and
Climb up that hill, paying greater attention to intuitive connection than before
If I write act three, here is what you'll see:
Jack and Jill will stop searching for the fountain of youth in favor of
Drinking from the fountain knowledge in hopes that
Whatever is left of family values will shore up instead of drying up
PS
*Today's post clarifies my purpose for popping up on your screen, day after day, with this mission in mind:
Upon mustering the courage to hold no one accountable for our adult mistakes other than oneself, we make sense of our downhill spirals.
By garnering the humility to open our eyes to straightening out our perspectives, we turn negative cycles around.
*Once we connect the details of our lives, insight into where we fit in the bigger picture expands our perspective, and as our perspectives expand, we're empowered to formulate simple plans, based in common sense.
As the narrow focus of my misperceptions pop up in story after story, it's my belief that you, too, may come to see that the proof is in the pudding ... whatever the heck that means ...
