This week on the news:
Bank places home in foreclosure over:
$100,000?
No
$10,000?
No
$1000?
No
$100?
No
$10?
No
$1
Bingo!
Bank ignores owner's letters and calls until newscasters step in.
All's well that ends well ... except for the fact that trauma was dismissed until peer pressure turned a panicky situation toward a positively focused, realistic and compassionate direction ...
What was Mother Nature thinking
When she chose to store
Both sides of human nature
Inside our brains:
ROCKS IN OUR HEADS
And SAFETY NETS!
When the Big Boys
Act like Big Bird
And feather-brained blood
Runs to gold
Small fry are left out in the cold.
That leads me to ask:
When
Dismissive attitudes
Minimize the plight of others
To which of our traits
Might we be blind?
If what goes up must come down
Meaning that top dog turns into underdog
What makes better sense—
Crashing angrily against glass ceilings repeatedly—
Or learning to tunnel toward spotlights of clarity?
If insights into both sides of human nature are timeless/universal/classic, then ... to whom might a deeply perplexed sixth grader go to in hopes of finding a safety net in which to land on solid ground, once again?
Annie decides to take a chance. So after taking in a deep breath, she takes a purposeful walk. Rings a bell. Holds her breath till door opens. Hello Mrs. So and So, I've fallen down, and I can't get up or figure out what happened to my sweet social life, and as I hope to find a piece of this puzzle that's knocked all sense of logic out of my mind—and since your son is Joseph's best friend—can Michael come out play?
