When yesterday's trouble
Clouds clarity today
That's my first clue
Of this fact:
I have mind-bending work to do
And baggage to unpack
Before peace of mind returns—for a while.
When next we meet
I'll give you the low down
On how the defensive lookout
In the tower of my mind
Plays tricks on the detective
Who tunnels toward my subconscious
In hopes of striking gold in the dark. :-)
