HALLOWEEN FUN 2018 🎃👻👽👸👮

It’s a given that several days before

Halloween, the fun starts with pumpkin carving

(Tony and Ray have been scooping their pumpkins

Clean as a whistle for years) 🎃

And following in Barry's footsteps

Their costumes are designed to reflect current interests

As the TV cartoon, Paw Patrol,  has become one of Ravi's favorite shows

And as the spirit of Halloween reflects family fun time

Steven and Celina joined Ravi in personifying some of those characters 

One of their neighbors turns the driveway leading into his garage into

The entrance of a haunted house where ghosts and goblins, leaping out of

Dark corners to yell at you, can be very scary, indeed, so before going in

We assured Ravi that everything was pretend including those garbed

In black so as not to be seen until they were literally in your face, and thus
Did we counsel our munchkin to remember that those scary folk were

Her neighbors, who were really nice behind their masks—

Though Ravi, costumed as puppy dog, Skye, wanted to venture in
We were not surprised when she shrunk back, grabbing

Hold of her daddy's leg each time a scary creature leaped out

In fact, we were surprised that she made it all the way through to the exit without
Asking to be picked up; then, we were surprised, again (after she'd collected
A few pieces of candy from other houses on that block) to hear

Our brave, almost four year old express her desire to

Go through that haunted house, again!

Why? we asked?  To which Ravi replied with strength of spirit—

Because this time, when they yell at me
I'm going to scare them by barking back—and
Much to our amused delight, that's exactly what she did!

Ruff!  Ruff!

And thus was last night's Halloween experience added to

Our family's fun-filled memory bank—Ohhmmm ...
