Does my heart good to tell you that
Today is David's birthday
As he chose to fly home, yesterday
Steven, Celina and Ravi plan to
Spend lots of time with us over Uncle David's stay
So, Rather than writng for hours, each day
I plan to offer you
A series of pictures, each of which
Is worth a thousand words
And here's why that's true:
Each one memorializes
A precious moment in time, which
Offers my heart, spirit, soul and
Peace of mind sound reason to smile and
The more often my smile rings true
The more thoroughly will
The rawness of last week's
Emotional turmoil heal for real ...
If you'd like to ask:
Annie, aren't you sick and tired of
Fielding reasons to grow ever more
Emotionally mature?
I'd reply: Sure
However, let's take a moment to remember that
The opposite of personal growth is shrinkage
And though my body is sure to shrink as
I age, it's my responsibility to make certain that
Another person's misdirected anger is not
Cause for the voice of my spirit to shrink back in
Silent grief, concerning
My lack of success in retrieving
A sense of extended family harmony for
One and all
Instead, I'll focus on feeling successful at
Being instrumental in achieving harmony within
The intimacy of an emotional environment in which
My sons chose to follow a Pied Piper, who continues
To model mutually respectful
Brainstorming techniques, which
Guide young minds toward resolving conflicts with
Self-control intact rather than
Unleashing emotional storms until
He or she who yells loudest longest reigns supreme
When next we meet
A series of photos will offer you a view of
Heartfelt togetherness enjoyed
By all who'd felt sheltered neath the tall pines, which
Like each person's inner strengths, have need to grow
Majestically healthy regardless of
Whether the weather offers
Dark clouds, pouring rain on our parade
Or sunbeams shooting across a clear blue sky ...
As for me ... I still tire easily ...
But everything considered
I'm doing really well, and
Here's why that's true:
Love and laughter continue to offer me
The best medicine of all
As today's train of thought
Pulls into the station
I plan to save two thousand words in this way:
I'm about to post a pair of pictures, which
Warms my heart, wins my smile and
Makes me say: For heaven sakes—
Where have these past seven months flown by!
Then I'll end for today with a photo
(Saving yet another thousand words!)
Of Ravi and Gramma awakening
At the cabin after sharing an afternoon nap, which
Made us feel all warm and snuggly neath
The bright yellow blanket, which had been crocheted with
Oodles of love as a keepsake for this precious child ...
THE LOOK OF LOVE ... NOVEMBER 2014
RAVI's 1st FOURTH OF JULY
Doesn't take a lot to keep a heart healthy when
One's focus consciously appreciates countless moments as wondrous as this!
