954 ETERNAL PEACE

Upon awakening this morning
Emotion, too complex to fathom, makes a swirl of my mind

At this sorrow laden time when
Emotion overwhelms clarity of thought
Here's all I can think to say, for now ...
Last evening, surrounded by those she'd loved more than words can tell
The small, peaceful smile on my beloved mother's face told us
That her spirit's readiness
To nestle in the safe haven of Dad's embrace
Had been lovingly received, and this vision of
Mom, who'd been her own woman
And Dad, who'd been bigger than life, embracing each other
As lovingly as they had over the sixty years that
Jennie had been Jack's sweetheart
And Jack had been Jennie's adoring husband
Offers each of us a measure of solace
At this time of immeasurable loss ...

I love you, Mom
I love you, more
I love you most
We love each other to infinity ...
"And how!"
