Emotion is like climate
One day the mind emotes a sense of sunny peacefulness
The next, a cloudy sense of turbulence blows in
Thus, when considering the changing nature of the mind
Instinct suggests it's wise to 'weather' both sides of myself
And if you were to ask
Annie, why doth so many posts be devoted
To mustering courage and humility to garner inner strengths?
I'd reply
I find it wise to exercise inner strength
Most especially at those times
When I'll be in the company of negatively focused innuendo
Which had inspired me to seek out this path of self discovery
In the first place!
At this point in my life—
Having worked to strip
Protective layers of my persona away—
I find it reassuring to note
That when the subject is self trust
Solace is mine each time I reconsider these facts:
As a child I'd subconsciously absorbed
The trustworthy nature of a good man, like my dad ...
As an adult I've consciously acquired
A sense of reality that serves me well, wherever I go
And thus, when I have need to confront Denialand, today
I can depend upon my weathered instincts to secure my sense of balance
And thus, no matter how often hot winds may swirl around deeper truths
If my smile is seen shining in your direction
You can rest assured that my spirit is signaling
A heartfelt connection that's as real as real can be
:-)
