Choose to walk down memory lane
In such a way as to
Reconsider which of their own perceptions
May have led them astray

Who need to whitewash their own angry retorts
In order that their minds rest easy, today
Blow smoke screens throughout memory lane
Thereby confusing anyone who chooses to question
That which the whitewasher has need to believe
Say what thee must but know this full well:
If your need to whitewash thyself
Darkens my traits, then ...
Thee will be choosing to drop my hand
And while my compassion for thy insecurity endures
Instinct may direct me to carve a path separate from yours ...
