Why does Thanksgiving follow Halloween?

At some point we've all felt pricked by life's 'tricks'

And thus do we pause to give thanks, year after year  ...

For insights, which enrich our minds

For friends who lift our spirits and

For love that soothes our hearts
While change for the better is taking place

And each time we choose to recall
Those bountiful times when life 'treats' us well
We remember to feel the good fortune
For cups that are more than half full!
