WITH MELTED MARSHMELLOWS TICKLING OUR NOSES😊

My dear friend, Pat, who just moved from the desert to the Midwest to reside near her family, e-mailed photos of this year’s first snowfall, which inspired my think tank to send her this heartfelt reply:

It always warms my heart to hear from you, and as I came from the Midwest to the Southwest, your photos aroused childhood memories of the wonderment I’d felt every winter upon awakening to peer out of my bedroom window to find the first glistening snowfall of the year covering our lawn, shrubs and tall fir trees as Jack Frost beckoned me to wake my sister, bundle up and run outside with lots of fun in mind, two prunes and a carrot in hand in readiness to build a snowman, after which nothing ever felt better than cozying up in our kitchen’s pumpkin colored booth where my mother’s smile held out a pair of piping hot mugs of chocolate milk to warm our hands before melting marshmallows, floating on top, tickled our noses.🥰

And with the warmth of that memory, reminiscent of yesteryear winter cheer enticing my smile to gaze out of my window so as to enjoy today’s sunny, blue skied desert terrain, I hope our treasured families and friends enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving in good health while taking every precaution to remain safe until, vaccinated, we gather, together, and enjoy a group hug, which proves to have been a long time coming.
