If you ask me, I’d say stuffing roasted Inside the bird is the best! Why? Because, while I’d decorated our table and prepared all of our traditional sides for thirty five guests, my dear friend, Andi, was our turkey roaster-extraordinaire for many years, and I can attest to the fact that the mouth watering succulence of her stuffing, which I love, is based in having been basted to perfection inside the bird.
As I’ve been unwell, over these past two years (inclusive of the first year when my chest pain and headaches were misdiagnosed by several physicians) my husband and sons took over the cooking until, this year, when Covid prevented our family from flying in, so my husband, Irwin, determined to enjoy all of his favorites, spent several evenings, this week, cooking and while he poured over my recipes, I cheered him on from my bed (being short of breath suggests why standing, walking and even sitting continue to present a challenge).
Fortunately, Andi roasted enough stuffing-filled turkey for us, and on Thursday when she snd Michael drop off our portion at our front door, we’ll have homemade potato knishes, dough rolled by Irwin, stuffed and fried by Scott, awaiting their arrival. If you ask my family which annual holiday feast is the best, Thanksgiving wins hands up—all around—and it’s only a day away! Yum!🙋🏻♀️🥰
