1381 INTRO TO MY INEXPERIENCED ADVENTURES INTO PARENTING Part 15

2015
When referencing the human sex drive
Scientific study offers us sound reason to believe that
Desire to satisfy this universal and yet
Personal need proves as necessary for women
(Who are known to be erotic creatures)
As is true of men—though many generations
(Inclusive of my own) were misguided to
Believe otherwise in the same 'fashion' that
People had been misled to believe that
The world was flat until
Courageous explorers proved that theory untrue

We've also been misled to believe that women are
More emotional than men, and here is why
Both misperceptions give me cause to say:  Balderdash!
Just as girls of my generation had been taught to
Repress or suppress our innate predisposition to
Satisfy the siren's natural hunger to
Enjoy erotic sexuality, boys were taught to
Express sexuality, openly, while
Repressing sensitivity to emotional reactivity ...

If boys and girls are raised in an emotional climate that
Truly respects our innate similarities then
Adults of both genders would not need to
Peel away so many layers of denial in hopes of
'Knowing' ourselves, through and through

If you recall anything about
The anthropological work of Margaret Meade
You'll agree that today's string of insights empowers
Our conscious minds to open, expand and
Absorb deeper truths, concerning that which
Each gender has been taught to repress within
Pockets of our subconscious for eons—even after
Scientific study offered us sound reason to expand
Narrow attitudes about basic needs that
Men and women have had in common since
Someone plucked a ripe, juicy apple off the
Tree of knowledge and offered a bite to another ...
And had that story been written by a woman
There would have been no need for a snake

BTW:  If we take an in depth look at the word
Anthropological, you may be surprised to see which
Word appears when the last seven letters are
Examined on their own ...
And with that said, let's take a moment to pause
Annie, Will, Jack and Jill's
Surprising food shopping excursion into
The frozen city in order to
Re-enforce that which aroused my curiosity, concerning
Female eroticism, when
I was in college, taking a class in sociology, which
Required students to read and discuss
The published works of Margaret Meade ...
However, rather than trekking all the way back to
My college days, let's eavesdrop on a conversation that
I chose to initiate with one of my sons when he was
The same age as was I when my sociology class
Introduced me to Margaret Meade, whose writing
Intrigued me to no end ...
