98. END FIRST KISS Part 5: SEEK THE MAIN ROOT
Pray tell: Do you know where this domino effect got it's start?
97. END FIRST KISS Part 4: FUN HOUSE MIRROR
97. END FIRST KISS Part 4: FUN HOUSE MIRROR
Sooo—you'd think
I'd feel
Devastated
Rather than bedazzled
Right?
Well—think again.
Selective memory paints
A wide variety
Of pictures
Inside our minds.
Most likely, my memory showcased Joseph's unexpected invitation and shocker of a kiss while the head-beating portion of 'our scene' must have taken a back seat. And here's why I believe that to be true:
Though no memories emerge of—going home, eating dinner, doing homework—I can actually recall falling asleep with a giddy sense of joy at the possibility that Joseph might consider me to be his girlfriend—I KID YOU NOT!
The mind is a master at manipulation just as a fun house mirror reflects distortions of the truth, in that:
What we hear and see and feel and whom we believe ourselves to be doth not necessarily match reality.
If
We doth not see
Or hear
Ourselves
With clarity
Any more
Than we see
Or hear
Others
With acuity—
Then
We'd
Be wise
To ask
ENT and EYE Doctors
To examine
The wave lengths
Connecting
Our eyes and ears
With our brains
When you see Annie enter the sixth grade cloak room, the next morning, you may agree with my perceptions concerning denial, because the domino effect of this star crossed, preteen, love affair is just getting started ...

96b. END FIRST KISS Part 3: ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER (96b)
So back in the alley, next thing I know, I'm listening to: God Damn It, Annie! Look what you did! When I get home I'm gonna catch it for sure!
As fury's burning arrow pierces my heart, my dreamboat bends over and grabs up the soggy mess, which had flown from his head into that muddied puddle of snow. And while one hand shakes off lumps of muck and the other yanks on King's leash, The Leader of the Pack stamps off in a huff, down the alley toward his house, leaving Pixie and me staring after our menfolk in a mindless state of disbelief ... because no one would believe that of all the girls in our class, Joseph had just kissed the laughing stock from the bus, whom no guy in his right mind would ever ask for a date! And as man with his best friend in tow fade from sight, I, feeling utterly dazzled by this shocking change in my fortune, turn toward my house and floating on air, take Pixie home.
Upon entering my house and bending down to unleash my pup, I have no clue of having taken another step further into the dark, hazy maze where I can't see the tree falling down in the forest to save my life. But then lots of changes take place to which we're blind at twilight—and if the truth be told, do any of us really have a clue as to what shocking event may take place from one minute to the next?
In short, who can fault an inexperienced, childlike mind from conjuring pipe dreams out of daydreams while falling into the state of dreamscape that night ...

96a END FIRST KISS Part 2: DOMINO EFFECT
So here we stand—face to face, lip locked within an embrace more intimate than I'd ever imagined in my wildest dreams—Well in truth—during my wildest dreams I'm being chased down the street by an angry gorilla and though my mouth is wide open, no yell for help gets past the huge lump, which tightens my scared-to-death throat—just like, right now! And each time that gorilla closes in, narrowing the gap, between life and death, I choke up even more—just like, right now—until Joseph's arms begin to relax their hold, freeing my arms to fly up, as though all on their own, to beat my sweetheart soundly all about his head, thus shocking him as spontaneously as he'd shocked me—and as his head bobbles back and forth to free itself of my blows, the wool cap, warming his ears against this frosty winter's eve, flies off and lands in a puddle of melting snow, as muddied as two, out-of-control, utterly stunned, pre teen brains—neither of which has a clue of the fact that one autonomic reaction leads to another—and so this scene leads this impassioned teacher to suggest that:
Jr. high schools offer a required class concerning the ways in which the limbic (emotionally, instinctive, egocentric) portion of the brain explodes over the Neo cortex, where knowledge and logic are stored.
You see, one side or the other of our brains lead us everywhere we go, and once we get to wherever we end up, one side or the other dictates everything we hear and say and do! Upon consciously identifying my brain as my leader, I decided to reflect back in order to learn how one side of my brain encourages me to achieve my goals while the other side discourages me from reaching my goals. In short, I chose to study the consequential effects of inner conflict.
Upon reflection, smacking Joseph around the head was purely instinctive. However allowing pure instinct to rule one's head is not always the best way to go. As you shall soon see, negative reactions result in negative consequences and then, later on, you'll watch positive focus turn negativity around ...

95. END FIRST KISS Part 1: AH! SWEET MYSTERY OF LIFE ...
95. END FIRST KISS Part 1: AH! SWEET MYSTERY OF LIFE ...
INSIGHT INTO A YOUNG GIRL’S INNER LIFE ...
Ah sweet mystery of life:
When to raise denial's shield
Or when to muster the courage
To confront subconscious fear?
That is the question.
If that is the question
And if readiness is the answer
Then what is THE problem?
THE problem is this:
As soon as a surge of confusion
Wrestles with subconscious fear
A combustible state of negatively charged energy
Stands ready to explode common sense.
And now, my friends, Annie and Joseph are about to show you what happens when two symbols of confusion clash against each other, like crashing cymbals—so here it comes—TRUE LOVE’S FIRST IMPASSIONED KISS …
While standing in the alley, staring down at Annie, a blushing Joseph blurts out: Annie—Billy is having a party (their first boy and girl date party), and I want you to go with me. Needless to say, Annie can't believe her ears. First of all, she's never been to a boy and girl party. Secondly, there's no way this tall, handsome, popular Leader of the Pack would choose Miss P over doe-like Hillary or gorgeous Viv!
As enchantment knocks out logic, a nice boy with nerves jangling and a good girl, who’s swooning, are swept into love's magic spell where she can't connect with words to reply, and he fears rejection. Finally, this spell, holding two minds hostage, is pierced by jagged words: Annie-do-you-wanna go-with-me-or-not?
As Annie’s mind is stuck in a spell bound state of shock, Joseph's boyish hopes turn to ire. Once defensiveness invades his mind, star struck eyes flash fire as he sputters sharply: Oh—just forget it!
At this, Annie stirs just enough to blurt out: Wait! I wanna go!
With a huge surge of relief, Joseph lunges, and swooping Annie around the waist, he yanks this dizzied girl against the length of his body—Then as this star crossed pair engage in their very first, impassioned bear hug, twelve year old Joseph plants True Love's First Kiss squarely on his brain dead sweetheart's lips.
I wish my next words were: Then they went steady and lived happily ever after—THE END ... But that fantasy is not what reality had in mind.
Instead, impassioned reactions splash, back and forth, because this pair of tussling preteens has no clue how to regain, much less maintain, emotional control. As I'm sure you'd like to see Annie's spontaneous reaction to Captain Hormone's impassioned lip lock, please tune in tomorrow to see why all hell is about to break loose ...
Good Lord—if only the spirit of Socrates had been soaring overhead puppy love might have had a shot ... If not Socrates, couldn't fate have conjured up a therapist, cycling by, who could toss them a bit of knowledge concerning subconscious devils on the loose ...

94. UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ... eighteen and counting !
:-)

93. FIRST KISS Part 12: IF ONLY THE SPIRIT OF SAGES ...
If only
The spirit of sages
had stopped by to visit
While Annie and Joseph
Had been standing in the alley ...
Staring into each other's eyes
This one act play
Would have offered
A happy ending to their story ...
I know this to be true
Because the voice of wisdom
Would surely have said:
Hello, Annie and Joseph
My name is Socrates
And as I'm mighty glad
To meet such nice kids
I've come to ensure
That your love rings true
So please listen up
And pay close attention
To what I have to say:
Before True Love
Can sink in deep enough to last
You'll need to discover subconscious wells
Deep inside your minds
Where negatively charged insecurities
Swirl round, dizzying your perceptions, today
In order to reveal
Insecurities
Which we hide from ourselves
We must muster the courage
To dive into those wells
Again and again
Until hot spots of unresolved anger and fear ...
Which cause
Negatively charged energy to explode
Are exposed and understood
Once self defeating insecurities
Surface and evaporate
Space is created
Inside the well of your mind
For positively focused emotions
To sink in more clearly
And thus more peacefully
Than ever before
As clarity
Replaces
Swirls of inner conflict
Insecurity
Transforms
Into self respecting, high self-esteem
And a new sense of self confidence
Opens our hearts
To well up with more love than ever before!
And if
This magical
Transformation
Takes place
Inside your minds—right now
Before our very eyes—
Then both of you will rejoice
In the sweet taste
Of true love's first kiss
And that
My friends,
Is the wondrous state of enchantment
Which would have made
Two spirits soar
Had the spirit of Socrates
Waved his magic wand over Annie and Joseph
In FIRST KISS
Part 12
Alas—
As you may
Have surmised ...
Thee shalt not
Witness
Bliss
At the end of
FIRST KISS
For three reasons:
Annie and Socrates
As for Joseph and Socrates
Well—your guess
Is as good as mine ...
Bottom line—preteens are hard wired
To be emotionally reactive and explosive
Rather than deeply reflective
So—If
True love's first kiss
Will not delight this love-struck pair
Then let's take a look at
What will go wrong
When Joseph's budding passion
For Annie
Unexpectedly wells up
And splashes out ...
The well of words
Inside my mind
Sure could use an editor!
