NERVE BLOCKS

Today, I was scheduled for nerve blocks at Mayo in hopes of relieving residual pain, radiating across my back ever since my surgeries, last summer, and now, my hopes are focused on being pain free

As soon as we arrived home, I, in need of feeling comfy, slipped into my Snoopy flannel pj’s followed by cozying up on my side of our king size bed with a throw across my lap, after which, I asked Will for Shelly’s pâté on whole wheat crackers, and with thoughts of enjoying Andi’s hot and hearty mushroom/beef/barley soup for dinner followed by Sue’s mondel breit for dessert—my mind—filled with homemade pate, savory bowls of piping hot soup and baked treats studded with chocolate chips—felt my good fortune to love such kind hearted friends and to feel so deeply loved in return.

Since it’s been gray, chilly and raw, outside, today proved perfect for wrapping myself in warmth before settling down for a long winter nap, which lasted from 3 to 7 pm!  No chance of my falling asleep on the couch, leaning into Will, while binging on Friday Night Lights, tonight!🙋🏻‍♀️😊

PS Sooo—with right wing republicans back tracking over what they’d stated while standing on the floor of The Senate chambers concerning the violent insurrection perpetrated upon our Capitol via #45’s direction, I can’t help but wonder if nerve blocks have needled their memories, over the brief span of only two weeks time—Geez, the reason for a two party system is not meant to differentiate human minds so sane as to subscribe to reality from human minds so blind to reality as to reflect beliefs verging on the edge of insanity, but somehow, over the years, that differentiation has actually taken place.🤦🏻‍♀️🇺🇸
