A WATCH DOG TO SAFEGUARD AMERICAN FREEDOMS

As copied from my Facebook page—

A post as clearly informative as the one penned below needs sharing so as to open countless pairs of eyes, which might otherwise be blindsided into complacency by imagining 45 wiling away his time on the golf course when in fact, his self inflated political ambitions continue to meet with those Republican senators and house representatives, whose extremist retro viewpoints threaten every democratic principle that preserves the freedoms of every person residing within The United States of America.  And as 45 has already proved himself a danger to presidential power changing hands peaceably as based in constitutional law, this self empowered leader of domestic terrorism has need of a watch dog, who will keep the American people’s peaceful sense of safety astutely aware of possible dangers brewing within our midst. πŸ‘©πŸ»

Posted by Barnett S. Lotstein:

Republican Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene  just told the media that she had a great telephone conversation with Trump.

Even out of office, Trump lends support and comfort to supporters of domestic terrorist organizations,  conspiracy theorists, extreme Trump cult members, and traitors to the constitution.

Republican members of congress are speaking loudly by their silence in condemning Greene. They are cowardly quivering before the alter of Donald Trump.

Greene has called school shootings, which resulted in the death of children, hoaxes. She has confronted teenage survivors of The Sandy hook massacre.  She has advocated the murder of Nancy Pelosi . She has supported the philosophy of QAnon.  She has insisted on bringing a gun into the Capitol.

This is the type of person Trump has lauded as a rising star and future of the Republican Party.

It is time for all true Republicans , for all real conservatives to abandon the Trump party as thousands have done already. It is time to relegate Trumpism to the trash heap of history

NERVE BLOCKS

Today, I was scheduled for nerve blocks at Mayo in hopes of relieving residual pain, radiating across my back ever since my surgeries, last summer, and now, my hopes are focused on being pain free

As soon as we arrived home, I, in need of feeling comfy, slipped into my Snoopy flannel pj’s followed by cozying up on my side of our king size bed with a throw across my lap, after which, I asked Will for Shelly’s pΓ’tΓ© on whole wheat crackers, and with thoughts of enjoying Andi’s hot and hearty mushroom/beef/barley soup for dinner followed by Sue’s mondel breit for dessert—my mind—filled with homemade pate, savory bowls of piping hot soup and baked treats studded with chocolate chips—felt my good fortune to love such kind hearted friends and to feel so deeply loved in return.

Since it’s been gray, chilly and raw, outside, today proved perfect for wrapping myself in warmth before settling down for a long winter nap, which lasted from 3 to 7 pm!  No chance of my falling asleep on the couch, leaning into Will, while binging on Friday Night Lights, tonight!πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️😊

PS Sooo—with right wing republicans back tracking over what they’d stated while standing on the floor of The Senate chambers concerning the violent insurrection perpetrated upon our Capitol via #45’s direction, I can’t help but wonder if nerve blocks have needled their memories, over the brief span of only two weeks time—Geez, the reason for a two party system is not meant to differentiate human minds so sane as to subscribe to reality from human minds so blind to reality as to reflect beliefs verging on the edge of insanity, but somehow, over the years, that differentiation has actually taken place.🀦🏻‍♀️πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

REMINISCING OVER WINTER WONDERLANDS, PAST

This weekend sees our son, Steven, and his family, up north, enjoying what has been our family’s cabin, which he just remodeled with central air and heat, a third bedroom, a garage and a wrap around deck, so that while they’re BBQ’ing, he, Celina and Ravi can sit outside, behind the cabin, which acing been built on sturdy stilts, overlooks Mother Nature’s tall Ponderosa pine trees with huge boulders, scattered below throughout the wash (ravine) instead of BBQing and relaxing, facing the street.  Phase two of their remodel will tackle the kitchen and bathrooms at a later, undetermined, date.

I love that, counting my parents, Ravi is the fourth generation to enjoy the cabin, which has long been my magic place, and with the addition of another bedroom, Barry, Marie, their boys and David hope to drive over from CA, this summer, so our grandsons, Tony and Ray, can enjoy building a fort in the wash along with Ravi, as did our three sons, several decades ago.😊

Steven has a four wheeler, which his family enjoys along with hiking in the woods with  their two beautiful Rhodesian ridgebacks, so time spent enjoying the cabin, near Flagstaff, offers their family’s sense of adventure an outlet as well as providing a relaxing get-a-way from daily life within a major metropolis.

This weekend sees them up north, playing amidst lots of snow, and I just received a text saying they’ve returned to the cabin after sledding with Ravi, so now, I’m picturing them with rosy cheeks, warming up in the great room, their hands wrapped around three steamy mugs of hot chocolate, and that vision makes me smile with a gentle sense of nostalgia, being that Barry was the same age as his boys are, now, and Steven was close to Ravi’s age, suggesting David was a toddler whose crib was seen between his brothers’ twin beds in the second bedroom, when we purchased the cabin, 42 years ago—chosen, over all the others we’d been shown, primarily because of its location, the greatroom and the wash, out back, which offered a huge rustic play space inviting three high spirited boys (and their friends) to exercise their lively imaginations before returning inside to woof down dinner and roast marshmallows after which Will made up super hero stories enjoyed, just before bedtime, by four or five mellowed out, young guys, who’d nestled down for the night in sleeping bags unrolled cozily close together on the carpeted floor within the larger expanse of the great room, where, over the next several decades, family life enjoyed leisurely meals, board games, crafts and charades—everyone’s favorite—with nary a tv or computer screen, anywhere in sight.

Currently in the valley, Will and I enjoyed a quiet, yet busy week, with friends coming for patio visits, every day.  Late yesterday afternoon, the warmth of our electric space heater proved necessary when Andi and Mike and our mutual friends, Judy and Julian, all masked, relaxed on our covered patio while rain fell, which thankfully stopped, before I’d tired, and our dear friends made their way back to their cars.

I’m welcoming a quiet day, today, while looking forward to enjoying another couple, our very first friends upon moving to AZ, who plan to come on Monday when the high is predicted to be 50 and rainy, which may be too inclement for those who’ve basked in the Vally of the Sun for close to 50 years, so we’ll not be surprised if our dear friends decide to postpone till later in the week when the temp is forecast to rise to 60 with sunny skies above ‘my’ mountain peak, arising majestically, day in and day out, directly behind our home.

I believe a winter storm is predicted for the Midwest—so, hopefully, when family and friends gaze wistfully through their windows at a winter wonderland, glistening, outside, each one will feel as relieved as I do now that we can count on Biden/Harris and their carefully chosen team of men and women, whose experienced expertise has begun to brainstorm our nation’s way through every crises exacerbated by the lies of the smarmy creature, who has crawled back into the swamplands where, hopefully, he’ll be swimming his way through legal troubles, over his head, thus hampering this lying charlatan’s reptilian brain from inciting yet another violent insurrection aimed at harming our nation, anew, while we place our faith in our current administration, composed of diplomatic states-persons, who prove capable of resolving highly complex, national problems, given time.

Personally, each time I’ve watched Biden address the nation as POTUS, my confidence in the strength of our democracy swells with a sense of patriotic pride, which I’ve not felt, over these past four deeply trying years.

My country, tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing!

And though a midwest/northeast/southeast winter storm may be imminently in store for many of my loved ones, hopefully, your hearts can feel mine holding Ravi’s magic wand aloft in hopes of guiding fluffy white clouds buoyed on the wings of doves to fly peaceably from D.C. toward each of you as intelligent steps taken to end this pandemic free all of us from quarantine, thus miraculously jump starting our nation’s economic recovery, at long last!

1 MY THANKFUL GRATITUDE FOR LABORATORY SCIENTISTS

While understanding the deeply concerned grumblings of those who have not yet been able to schedule appointments for the Covid vaccine, I’m proud of our nation, which having experienced a void of national leadership, over these rudderless four years, answered to the urgent need of haste with which our laboratory scientists have successfully tested, produced and are distributing millions of doses of this desperately needed, life saving vaccine.

And thus do I commend our scientists for being first responders along with exhausted physicians, nurses, and hospital staff, who have won the depths of my admiration and gratitude for services rendered to their fellow human beings regardless of political affiliation—and as I have experienced illness so grave as to have been hospitalized via the ER, several times during the Covid pandemic, my undying depth of gratitude for every first responder whose gentle smiles comforted my painful way forward, day by day, continues to give thanks, emanating naturally from deep within my still healing heart, and with our second dose of vaccine scheduled in early Feb., I hope you, too, have been registered if not as of yet then very soon.πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️❤️πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒŸ

AN ODE TO OUR NATION’S YOUNG POET LAUREATE

 Even now

Two days later

I continue to feel

Both inspired and

Awestruck by

The lovely sight of

Youthful insight

Emanating from within

An exquisite sense of

Beauty proving

So naturally

Emergent from

Every delicate pore of

Amanda Gorman’s being

As had been precisely

Conveyed throughout

Our youthful

Poet Laureate’s

Profoundly talented

Patriotic recitation of

Hope laced with love of

Country, as in

The rainbow’s

Appearance after

The storm, the memory

Of which literally

Continues to hold me

Spellbound, today.

πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒŸ

Thank you to my dear friend, Freddie Lieberman, for being the muse whose simple question inspired my spirit to confer with my mind so that both colored in my heartfelt ‘rainbow’ reaction to Amanda Gorman by way of releasing a string of words dedicated to honoring the prodigious talents of our precocious  22 year old poet laureate, which will enrich the ear our nation’s soul beyond compare for many a year.

THE DAY AFTER THE BIG DAY

Though I felt elation when Obama was sworn in, a deep sense of relief was more in keeping with my feeling during yesterday’s Biden/Harris inauguration, based upon the frequency with which my short fused frustration felt lit if not enflamed pretty much daily over these past four years.

I can’t begin

To convey

The depths of

My relief at

Having been

Freed of feeling

Compelling need

To even mention

‘his’ heinous name

And if a gater on

The golf course

In Florida

Invites ‘him’

For dinner

I hope

The swamp creature

Has Tums handy

Though there’s

No telling

Which slimy

Swamp creature

Will devour

The soured mind of

The other, first

And if it should

Happen that

This pair

Wrestles to

The end of both

All the better

INUGURATION DAY DAWNS, AT LAST.

As today is January 20, 2021

The dawning of

This brand new day

Holds promise of glorious

Change for the better

 Beginning to free us to

Embrace a joyous jumpstart

As we, the people of The USA

Who have spent these past

 Four tormented years

Bidding our time until

Biden’s and Harris’s

Blessed Presidential and

Vice Presidential inaugural

Addresses to The USA and

The world at large

Take place, today

And the fact that

Our adventure forth

Matches theirs towards

Welcoming positively focused

Knowledgable leadership as

Your future and mine

Get underway

Is reason enough for

This intuitive train of

Thought to pull happily into

Its rest station, being that

All I’ve felt need to say, today

Has been peaceably said

Except for this—

USA—Hip Hip Hurray!
