BTW—have I mentioned that last week

As you can imagine, that experience, lasting several
Minutes, aroused my sense of intrigue’s need to
Reconcile my intelligence with understanding
A brain reaction as surreal as that, most especially
Because tests administered in the ER of our neurological
Hospital on that very day ruuled out a TIA, and though
I do not talk in tongues, it’s a good thing I’d not lived in
Salem when those, feeling bewitched, bothered and
Bewildered were charged with witchcraft and declared
Guilty if, having been hogtied, stuffed into body sacks and
Cast into the river (while ‘sane’ town folk watched
Witches—mainly women, whose intuitive powers were feared)
Failed to float up to the surface, and thus did innocence
Face death by drowning in the USA—just as ‘heretics’, tied to
Stakes in Spain, were set aflame in the name of Jesus Christ—
And let’s not forget Richard The Lionhearted, who’d led
His army of men on The Crusades where victors plundered
Victims whose religious beliefs differed from
The ‘the one true faith’, so when it comes to nations
Launching lunatics, who lead others to do God’s good work (which
includes pillaging, raping and murdering at will much more
Often than each next generation chooses to consciously recall)
I can see clearly, now, that trump’s red hats are no different from
Armies raised by our governing bodies in times past, for instance
Armies that torched Native American villages while
Congress broke every treaty made with tribal chiefs, who had
Naively held forth the peace pipe to pale faces whose
Tongues proved every bit as forked as is true of
Our current president, whose snakelike presence
Is not the first to defile The Sanctity of The Oval Office; however
As long as each next generation studies history to ace tests and
Then fails to learn from history repeating itself once childhood’s
Pop quizzes are left behind, then ‘never a dull moment’ will seem to
Fly in from out of the blue—again. And again. And again!
And thus do I come to see that though trump may be the worst
Example of egomaniacs elected to the highest office in
Our land of the brave and the free, he is by no means
The first elected official to besmirch the stellar reputation of
The USA as being the best safe haven on planet earth (unless
You were enslaved) in which to raise armies, whose
Main purpose is to ensure that a dictator like trump can’t
Wield the personal power to drag our nation back in time to
Those days when thirteen colonies bowed to the whims of
A king, whose Midas touch couldn’t care less about
The unmet needs of the people, many of whom had been
Brainwashed into believing that they’d anointed
A yellow haired, pale face whose lies are as easily
Cracked open as is true of the nutcases who, blinded by
Fear, anger and greed, follow his lead, and perhaps by
Seeing myself as an aging ant content with moving
Today’s portion of personal sustenance up to the top of
My familial anthill, I’ll devest my conscious mind of
Subconscious need to haul that deeply ropted
Rubber tree from one rest station to the next
And considering the fact that as birthdays add up
Energy decreases, that will be a welcome change, indeed!
