WILL CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE EXACERBATED BY trump ESCALATE INTO THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR II?

AULD LANG SYNE
As New Year’s lengthy, celebratory weekend drew to a close, here were my wishes for a happy, HEALTHY welcome to 2021–I hope that each of you experiences as many peaceful moments as possible during this turbulent period of transition between trump’s leave-taking and Biden’s readiness to inspire the de polarization of our nation, which proves essential if we are to embrace change for the betterment of men, women and children with a heightened sense of self awareness concerning each person’s heartfelt capacity to expand the greater good, over all, by identifying those times when defensive reactions blind us from retaining positive focus in order to maintain our commitment to shower our fellow human beings—as blind as WE may prove to be to our personal faults, fears and frailties—with self-empowering inner strengths inherent within your personal choice and mine to adhere to an attitude of loving kindness wherever we go—once we can actually, finally, safely and joyously leave quarantine and polarization (but perhaps not masks and Purell) behind.

GUNNING FOR PEACE—RAT-A-TAT-TAT
Directly below you’ll find my reply to a daily ‘checking in’ text from a dear friend who, while power walking in the Midwest, ran into a rat:
Next thing I know, your caring heart will have welcomed this hungry creature home to warm up and enjoy a hearty breakfast with you.π
On a serious note, have you resumed watching the news?
Following trump’s hour long call to hassle Georgia’s Secretary of State to join him in committing election fraud ‘or else’, our nation may go off its rocker, BIGTIME.
In case you’re still boycotting the news in hopes of retaining your calm before the storm, tis best to be aware of trouble afoot while walking outside by yourself in case the crazies may be readying themselves in full force with mischief in mind, suggesting our being cautiously self protective so as not to be inadvertently caught up in anything untoward.
(I googled and copied the quote directly below)
The hate group, “The Proud Boys, is back in D.C. to protest the certification of the presidential election results. January 4, 2021, upon entering the District of Columbia and pursuant to a DC Superior Court Arrest Warrant, MPD members arrested 36 year-old Henry ‘Enrique’ Tarrio, of Miami, FL.”
Who knows where the dark side may plan to turn up, next? Safety First, over these next several days, may warrant remaining inside till Darth trump calls his hate mongering bullies to ‘stand down’.π‘
On a lighter note, though David’s leave-taking, yesterday, provided my spirit with a sense of loss, tis good to know that I awoke, today, with a balanced view of life—crazed as it may be.
If our choice is: Love—health—money—power then I’ll choose just enough of the last two to feel independently secure and an abundance of the first two to buoy my spirit in the event of a donald trump charlatan in sheep’s clothing knocking at my door, asking me to come out to play cops and robbers—for real!
Love you, dear friend!
ππ»♀️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ PS
Haha! The joke’s on me!
Not a hungry rat, you say, but rather a busy beaver securing his lodge, same as you and me. BTW, our affable furry friend asked my friend to tell me to tell you he’d voted blue.ππ»♀️☺️ππΌ

WILL trump’s MOST RECENT BOMBSHELL RESULT IN HIS FINAL IMPLOSION, AT LAST?
What more must be witnessed before trump’s traitorous egocentric madness is legally stripped of all presidential powers with expediency specifically to safeguard our hard hit democracy from incurring further harm? We now add concrete prove of voter fraud to what had been his whispered list of felonies as if ignoring his bold faced lies contradicting the pandemic’s negative effect perpetrated upon our crippled economy has not been criminal enough to disempower his addled brain, which had heartlessly dismissed hundreds of thousands of needless deaths in order to fan the flames that stir the stew until, having reached its boiling point, the concept of mutually respectful brotherhood, which serves as the primary strength that keeps a world power great, burns to a crisp during dire times that try the souls of men, women and children, declaring more than 70,000,000 Americans adhering to leadership’s lack of moral judgement as a whole. What more must this charlatan say and do to be locked away with his unlawful family and clone-like cronies for too many years to count? Let’s try trump’s most recent criminal action, as deemed colossal in nature, on for size:
January 3, 2021 (Sunday)
Professor Heather Cox Richardson
“Today’s news starts yesterday, when Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to demand he overturn the results of the presidential election in Georgia and deliver the state to Trump. Raffensperger apparently recorded the call, keeping it handy in case Trump misrepresented it publicly. This morning, Trump did exactly that, tweeting: “I spoke to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger yesterday about Fulton County and voter fraud in Georgia. He was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out of state ‘voters’, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!” Raffensperger retweeted the president’s accusation with the comment: “Respectfully, President Trump: What you're saying is not true. The truth will come out[.]”
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Washington Post both obtained a recording of the conversation and published news of the call this afternoon, revealing that Trump had asked Raffensperger to “find” the 11,800 votes Trump needed to win Georgia. In the hour-long call, the president rambled through the conspiracy theories about the election—all of which have been debunked—seeming to believe them. He insisted that there was simply no way he could have lost in Georgia, and cited the size of his rallies there as proof. Trump asked Raffensperger to adjust Georgia’s vote to give the election to Trump by a single vote, telling him that he could just say that he had recalculated.
Trump made vague threats against Raffensperger and the secretary of state’s general counsel Ryan Germany, suggesting that their unwillingness to find the ballots Trump insists are missing puts them at risk for criminal charges. He bullied them—talking over them and at one point telling Raffensperger “only a child” could believe the vote counting was fair-- and warned them that it would be their fault if the Republican candidates lost in the January 5 runoff election since “a lot of Republicans are going to vote negative, because they hate what you did to the president…. And you would be respected, really respected, if this can be straightened out before the election.”
After running through all the conspiracy theories and suggesting that Raffensperger and Germany might face criminal charges, Trump said: “So what are we going to do here folks? I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.”
Joining Trump on the call were White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows; lawyer Cleta Mitchell, a prominent right-wing lawyer who had managed until now to keep her participation in Trump’s efforts to overturn the election quiet; and lawyer Kurt Hilbert. Meadows was more reasonable than Trump, but he, too, asked Raffensperger “to look at some of these allegations to find a path forward that’s less litigious.” (Raffensperger replied: “[w]e don’t agree that you have won.”)
Mitchell and Hilbert backed Trump and Meadows in their repeated demand for information about voters, including their voter IDs and registrations. This is voter data to which, by law, they cannot have access. (When Germany answered that the state is prohibited from sharing that information, Trump retorted: “Well, you have to.”)
University of Georgia Law Professor Anthony Michael Kreis told Politico reporters Allie Bice, Kyle Cheney, Anita Kumar, and Zach Montellaro that it is against the law in Georgia for anyone to “solicit” or “request” election fraud. “There’s just no way that… he has not violated this law,” Kreis said. Michael R. Bromwich, former inspector general of the Department of Justice, tweeted that “unless there are portions of the tape that somehow negate criminal intent,” Trump’s “best defense would be insanity.”
David Shafer, the chair of the Georgia Republican Party, tried to excuse this extraordinary conversation by tweeting that the phone call had been a “confidential settlement discussion” of two lawsuits Trump has filed against Raffensperger, and that the audio version the Washington Post published was “heavily edited and omits the stipulation that all discussions were for the purpose of settling litigation and confidential under federal and state law.”
Marc E. Elias, a lawyer leading the Biden team’s litigation efforts to counter Trump’s lawsuits over the election, knocked that explanation flat. “Trump and his allies have lost 60 post-election lawsuits, including several in GA,” he tweeted. “There are no cases that could have plausibly been the subject of settlement discussion. Oh, and I represent parties in all of those cases, so I would have had to be on the phone as well. I wasn't.”
President Richard M. Nixon resigned after his people orchestrated an attempt to bug the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., before the 1972 election, and then covered up that burglary. What is on this recording makes the Watergate scandal look quaint. President Trump, his chief of staff, and two of his lawyers have been recorded pressuring state authorities to change vote counts so they can steal an American election. Especially considering that we know he pressured Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to help him win in 2020, we have to assume this is not the only call like this he has made in the last several weeks.
The only more thorough attack on our democracy would involve the military and, not coincidentally, tonight all ten living former defense secretaries, including two who served under Trump, signed a letter to the Washington Post reiterating that the military should not be involved in determining the outcome of an election. They warned that any efforts to involve the military in an election dispute “would take us into dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory,” and noted that any civilian or military official who either directs or carries out an order to get involved in an election “would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic.”
This bombshell recording changes political calculations across the board.
Republicans have been lining up either for or against the president, showing their loyalty by backing his attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election. More than 100 House members have said they would contest Congress’s January 6 counting of the electoral votes from states Trump continues, without evidence, to claim he won. On December 30, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) agreed to join them, at least for the state of Pennsylvania. Then, yesterday, twelve senators, led by Ted Cruz (R-TX) said they would reject the votes from all the contested states and demand an audit of the election results there. They don’t expect to change the election—the results are clear—but lawmakers backing Trump are hoping to court his voters for future elections as they try to step into the vacuum his removal from office will create.
It’s a cynical and dangerous position, and standing against them are lawmakers like Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE), who note that the 2020 election was overwhelming and clean, and that Trump is attacking the very basis of democratic government as he tries to change the outcome of it. They are hoping to pull the Republican Party away from Trump and his followers.
The struggle between the two factions was out in the open by yesterday, and shortly before the news of the recording dropped, two Republican leaders sided against the lawmakers planning to contest the counting of the electoral votes. House of Representatives Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY), who is responsible for electing the House Republican leadership and managing committee assignments and who is therefore very powerful, sent a 21-page memo to her colleagues warning that such a plan would set a dangerous precedent, enabling Congress, rather than the states, to choose the president. She concluded: [B]oth the clear text of the Constitution and the Electoral Count Act [of 1887] compel the same conclusion—there is no appropriate basis to object to the electors from any of the six states at issue.”
Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) also issued a statement condemning the plan. "It is difficult to conceive of a more anti-democratic and anti-conservative act than a federal intervention to overturn the results of state-certified elections and disenfranchise millions of Americans," he wrote.
These two defections from the Trump camp were not, perhaps, surprises, but the news of this extraordinary recording now offers an opening for others to slide away from Trump. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), who has been a staunch supporter of the president but who seems to be trying to position himself for a presidential run in 2024, tonight also rejected his colleagues’ plan to challenge the electoral count on Wednesday. His statement split the difference between the two Republican factions. He reiterated many of the Trump camp’s talking points but, like Cheney, objected to their plan to overturn the election in Congress on the grounds that the last thing conservatives, who object to the power of the federal government, should want is a stronger Congress. Cotton's defection is a sign that the recording is undermining Trump's position.
If there is one good thing for the president in all this, it is that this stunning news has taken the media focus off the coronavirus, at least for a few hours. More than 350,000 Americans have now died of Covid-19; more than 20 million Americans have been infected. “Cases are rising, hospitalizations are increasing, deaths are increasing,” Dr. Henry Walke of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told Tim Stelloh of NBC News. CDC Director Robert Redfield agreed, adding that the winter months “are going to be the most difficult time in the public health history of this nation.”
Thank you Professor Richardson for, yet again, opening our eyes to political subterfuge so damningly criminal in nature as to incite staunch Republicans to jump ship in hopes of the captain going down, all alone, twittering all the while as his mind descends into total darkness till his tentacles, losing sight of all direction, wrap ever more tightly around his own neck, so that upon sputtering his last desperate plea, here is what we, who listen vigilantly hear—Who will save me from the Democrats who are determined to choke me to death, and thus must we stop them from winning Georgia by even one legally cast vote. And with trump’s declaration of guilt astutely taped (yet again, says Me Too) for posterity, today’s intuitive train of thought running on parallel tracks directly behind Professor Robinson’s knowledgeable history-in-the-making mind, I can clearly see my brain’s rest station beckoning peaceably, directly ahead.

KINDRED SPIRITS
As Americans upholding a self-made democracy, you and I could never imagine trump as having been elected to the presidency, and thus were we blindsided (just as many Germans had not preconceived of hitler’s rise to power before his eventual self destruction led to the end of WWII), because we who’d felt financially secure ‘slept’ through the years when too many ‘have-not’ Americans felt furiously disenfranchised by and polarized (rightly so) from the ambitiously unrestrained greed of the super wealthy 1%. In retrospect, our nation was ripe for a charlatan take-over by someone; however the fact that Trump filled that bill was astounding, being that this braggadocio was amongst the 1%, who cared naught for the woes of the common man. And of symbolic interest is the fact that our myopic vision failed to verify the passive part played by our complacency till reflection clarified our lack of 20/20 vision until 2020 at which time, communal threat of Covid hit us, one and all, right between the eyes.
During this time of national polarization, tis heartwarming to focus upon my heartfelt connection to a deeply cherished friend from high school, with whom I exchange texts, every day, who’d sent me a photo, several weeks ago, of her youngest grandchildren all bundled up while shivering on her back porch, and with five separate flames (inclusive of the Shamash) shimmering brightly over individual candles, each standing in its own holder, my friend’s family menorah symbolizes the fifth night in which oil enough for only one night continued to light the eternal flame, signifying the eight day miracle of Chanukah in the aftermath of the Maccabee family winning their freedom from unwarranted servitude, during biblical times. And with the Menorah on this outdoor table with the approach of a Midwest winter’s eve, grandkids, huddling close together for warmth, are seen enthusiastically intent on biting into chocolate coins while opening Chanukah presents, their Dreydl being the only tradition missing from this year’s outdoors, masked celebration of miraculous freedoms, because hands inside mittens encounter difficulty spinning a top.
My text went on to say that my friend’s precious children (and mine) both big and small, are watching as she and I role model how best to maintain the on-going strength of family togetherness during life’s trying times, which classically cast dark clouds over each next generation’s sense of good natured, well intentioned, purposeful success, seemingly from out of the blue, though stormy times do not come without warning. Time and again, Denial casts veils over the darkest of hints, which then are classically missed by too many until those most deeply affected prove to be—you and me. And though our initial reactions demand to know—from where this horrific event came—deeper truth, buried subconsciously, will not filter into our conscious minds until some event triggers a heightened sense of self awareness to one’s own lack of sensitivity to the intensity of pain or loss or poverty suffered by others until their pain or loss or fear or poverty matches our own.
Every day, my hard working, social worker friend and I bid each other a good morning as we both prove to be intuitively determined to ‘do our thing for the betterment of humankind’ in hopes that, one day in the distant future, she and I will leave a positive footprint upon this planet of ours as we each actively participate in rebuilding a better place for human life to thrive than our world had known to provide when we were as young and innocent of understanding both sides of human nature as is true of the innocence of her precious grandkids and mine, today.
Kindred spirits are we, since our late teens, so tis no wonder why our truthful yet oh so tender friendship continues to grow ever more mindful of each other’s loving kindnesses no matter how many miles prevent our sipping the same cup of tea. And thus, as neither has slipped away from the other, over these past 45 years of separation by 1500 miles, we each raise a glass to coach or toast each other’s mutual inner strengths, metaphorically, several times, daily, by way of texting without worry of growing so tipsy as to fail to welcome the dawning of each brand new wondrous day as our future continues to unfold in the most unexpected and thus intriguing ways—and as melanoma is not to be taken lightly, Will and I are sending our best wishes to my friend’s husband on the outcome of his Moh’s surgery, tomorrow. (Satisfactorily resolved.) Please let us know how both of you are, afterward, just as we’ll fill you in concerning my biopsy report, if not today then hopefully, on the morrow (also satisfactorily resolved), as life often offers our hearts more than one worry to handle with self disciplined intellect intact—and that’s the timeless truth. π©π»❤️
If you ask from whence this old English vibe infiltrates my choice of words, here would be my reply—intuitive musings of my mind, while writing, must wander through my subconscious memory’s personal library of English novelists and biographers, thus enhancing my sensitivity to the emergence of English idioms, mid sentence.
And having reminisced, over these past several weeks, this text to my friend will be considered a wrap for right now, as my attention switches tracks from that which has passed toward readying my mind toward the mutual enjoyment of zooming this afternoon’s NFL game with beloved family residing hundreds of miles away
With three days to go before all eyes, concerned with the outcome of the upcoming election in Georgia, I’ll bid you adieu until next we meet ... ππ»♀️Annie

AN INTUITIVE CALL TO ACTIVATE NATIONAL AWARENESS
Having mustered the courage to confront my fears—here goes a plunge into the dark side of my mind:
As commonly happens, upon awakening, today, an intuitive train of thought stood up on its soapbox so as to speak of fear (or perhaps, deeper truth) to the most absorptive portion of my conscious mind, and here is what my soul felt need to clarify for me on New Year’s Day:
At birth, your body and mine serve as strong spirited vessels with brains having been readied, during the nine month period of gestation, to leave the womb with the purity of innocence and wisdom, blended so thoroughly into our DNA, as to have recreated the matrix, composed of a myriad of old souls, having passed through eons of life, repeatedly, resultant of highly personalized experiences, stored in ‘subconscious’ memory, offering each next generation of human life boundless opportunities to imbue the present with the knowledge of scholars, who have long passed into the great beyond as mankind continuously develops a future in which the unique bundling of personal experiences (as absorbed by the young sponge-like brain of every individual) will determine whether each person’s life-long path will lean more readily toward inhaling good vs evil attitudes followed by exhaling more of whichever side of human nature has been offered, most often, to each newly hatched ‘old soul’ harbored within the open-minded innocence of every child whose primary role models will inadvertently set into motion the fluidity of each next generation’s personal strengths and weaknesses leading one nationality or another to adhere more or less securely to the step by step process of accomplishing high principled achievements associated with the ultimate attainment of a success oriented, matched set of classic goals while another nation’s addiction to greedy agranulocytosis can’t help but spiral from the pinnacle of success toward the eventual debasement of self destruction based in the mean-minded sudden implosion of leadership’s delusional state of self-aggrandizement that adheres to the childish (not to be confused with childlike) churlish belief that every horrific decision made by this mentally deranged think tank, which has been thoroughly indoctrinated with the stone cold impression that dictates—tis good to be King of the world—grabs the attention of a deeply disillusioned, disenfranchised people, ready to blindly elevate one person to fully inhabit this untenable, all powerful position, and once this attitude infiltrates the gullible minds of millions, your intuitive intelligence and mine must remain vigilantly aware of that which WE may be forced to confront during these last critical days once the donald’s enraged, deeply betrayed, deranged mental state refuses to face the demise of his self delusional reign of terror without unleashing out-and-out war upon everyone of us, who, seen as his personal enemies, will either be brought to our knees begging for mercy or find ourselves facing utter ruin while the malevolent madness of this pathological suicide bomber hunkers down, as did Hitler, in a bunker once it was obvious that WW II had reached its bloody end—with this caveat—if trump is not stripped of his imaginary self empowerment—with immediacy—who knows how or when this self destructive lunatic may push the button igniting WWIII before blowing himself and The White House, as well as you and me to smithereens—
Both the FBI and the police ignored the warning, which could not have been stated any more clearly, offered by the girlfriend of the most recent home grown bomber in the history of crazies left free to do harm at will throughout the USA.
Only this week, one crazed serial killer admitted to getting away with over 70 murders, causing me to wonder if, over the years, he’d lost count of many more—each one—each and EVERY one of these souls—having been tortured by the brain of a psychopathic monster who may have been your neighbor or mine, living just down the street from today’s generation of innocent children playing king of the hill in readiness to push each other down as do adults, aspiring to do whatever it takes to reach the top of the mount ... why did trump stop playing golf and return to D. C. earlier than planned—certainly not because children are starving—referencing not needy children in Europe but millions suffering congressional neglect, across The USA—today.
And don’t even get me started about the unleashing of the dark side of Covid, which actually harbors a silver lining of sorts in that during the absence of trump’s utter lack of a plan or compassion concerning hundreds of thousands of deaths, our present day Ming the Merciless would have won re-election in a landslide had he not lied so brashly about his twisted ability to reinvent science to fit his political agenda, re-emphasizing terrifying thoughts about the gaggle of beliefs that actually rattle around inside millions of American minds ...
Every day, while watching Don Lemon looking ever more exhausted on national TV, I wonder, incredulously, why does the majority of people in our nation, who admit that our constitution, penned hundreds of years ago, is in dire need of amending, sit complacently by, eyes wide open, heartfelt hypertension pulsing passively away while in wait of who-knows-which red button trump’s traitorous total lack of lucidity remains free to push as did Ming The Merciless, week after week, when I was a child, watching catsup splattering across a 19 inch screen, whereas the bloodbath that we may continue to free trump to actually perpetrate upon the world, concerning the self-destruction of HIS empire, consists of human life—

OUR CLOSEST FRIENDS, WHETHER NEXT DOOR, DOWN THE STREET OR A PLANE RIDE AWAY—LEADING UNMASKED FEAR TO ASK: WHERE IS THE SUPERIOR INTELLECT needed to stop trump in his tracks BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE FOR AMERICANS TO BECOME AWARE OF THIS FACT: WE WHO SET A HIGH VALUE ON LIFE IN A DEMOCRACY MUST NOT NURTURE NARROW MINDSETS THAT BLIND OUR INTUITIVE INTELLIGENCE FROM ACKNOWLEDGING THAT WITH EACH PASSIVE MINUTE SPENT FREEING trump’s SELF EMPOWERMENT AND THAT OF HIS CRONIES, WE SERIOUSLY ENDANGER THE SAFEKEEPING OF EVERY INNOCENT CHILD WHO LOOKS UP TO EACH OF US FOR GUIDANCE, WHICH, BASED IN INTUITIVE WISDOM, MAY BE DIRECTING US TOWARD MAKING HASTE VIA BECOMING PROACTIVELY AWARE OF POSSIBLE NEED TO STRIP trump OF PRESIDENTIAL POWERS IN ORDER TO PRESERVE THE SAFETY OF EVERY PERSON IN THE USA FROM EVEN ONE MORE HOSTILE, VINDICTIVE ACT OF INSANITY ... and having aired my deepest fear, I’m about to turn CNN as well as my mind to another channel, so as to wish you, yet again, a Happy Healthy, Mindfully Kind New Year as 2021 begins to unfold—one day at a time ... πππ£

HAPPY NEW YEAR USA 2021
Good morning, dear friends—for several years, I found the buzz word to be ‘mindful’, now, following four heartless years of trump’s administration, the buzz word that comes to mind most often is ‘kind’, suggesting our need to grow much more mindful of offering heartfelt kindness wherever we go—
And so, wrapped within our gift basket for you and all you love is this loving hope—may your little corner of the world be filled with good health and loving kindness, topped with a bright sunny dollop of peace of mind soaring ever so freely over a clear blue sky—
Happy New Year!
ππ»♀️Annie
PS
Befitting our New Year’s Eve celebration in quarantine, my husband, Will and I chose to watch: Death to 2020–
This ‘mockumentory’ on Netflix summarized a year that’s not to be believed as true—except for the fact that it was! π€¦π»♀️
After that movie, we watched a heartwarming film based upon the true life experiences of a pair of brothers, whose love for one another (and football) inspired their youthful escape from their parents’ life of drug abuse and poverty.
I’m really glad to have watched the upbeat nature of the latter before falling asleep, last night. ππ»♀️Annie
